How Font Styles Work

Each font style maps standard letters to specific Unicode characters. Unicode includes mathematical symbols that resemble different typefaces.

For example, the cursive style maps A to 𝓐 and B to 𝓑. These are Unicode characters, not font files.

Some styles have better platform support than others. Bold and italic styles usually work everywhere. Gothic styles may have limited support.
